Damn Well 06:29
VERSE You know damn well how to get me to that place and just how hard it is to get back And I know damn well what you're trying to say and you don't even have to ask CHORUS But we do it anyway Just put off the pain another day VERSE We're so well received as we rationalize that this is going to be the end But no truth is held in those desperate lies and it all falls down again CHORUS So we do it anyway Just let it slide another day SOLO VERSE And you know damn well, yeah we both knew all along Inspiration hits when everything else has gone wrong Resolve renewed, yeah we saunter forth again Determined this time, this is it But we know damn well we're as weak as we've ever been and the failure seems so imminent CHORUS But we do it anyway Just put off the pain another day Yeah we do it anyway And live false hope another day

Anesthesia 05:09
In the places no one looks we have filled in all the holes. Rip the pages from the books to anesthetize our souls. If the worst should come to worst let the words catch in the throat. Squeeze until the vessels burst and the will is without hope.

Quicksand 04:20
(He said) Maybe I should do something? (She said) You've already done enough. (He said) Maybe I should do something? (She said) You've already done enough. (He said) Maybe I should step in? (She said) You already stepped in it. (He said) Maybe I should step in? (She said) You're already deep in it.

Whether 04:38
Every breath she uttered was a sigh and he was in the backseat getting high. Once upon a time she thought she couldn't wait to kiss him... Trees and grass give way to gravel. Dreams turn black as they unravel. When he said he'd kill himself she wondered if she'd miss him at all... Left to our devices, we would overwhelm the engines and fall.

Please...please help me. I don't know if you can see, but someone has doused me in gasoline and set me on fire. Somebody set me on fire. Excuse me. Sorry to interrupt. I know you're busy and I don't know you, but some bad fellas got ahold of me and now my body is being burned. Somebody set me on fire. Never mind. Pardon the smell. I'm afraid it's me if you can't already tell. See, I got involved with the wrong people and now I've been burned to death. Somebody set me on fire. And you did nothing. You did nothing. You just sat there and watched me burn. You did nothing. You did nothing. You didn't do a single, goddamned thing. YOU JUST WATCHED ME BURN.

about

Back in 2015, Witch Tree put together an 8-song demo so venues and bands could hear what we sounded like when working on booking shows.

We originally planned to re-record all these tracks for our first proper release but as our style evolved it felt more difficult to put together a cohesive package of the songs we had ready to go. We decided to pick some of the songs from the demo tracks that still accurately represented how we played them live and had Danny Anton Productions remix and remaster them. Danny really went above and beyond with refining the demo tracks we gave him and what we've ended up with is a great sounding EP of five songs.

The remaining three songs from the demo will be re-recorded and included on our forthcoming LP, Be a Great Sea.
